The Lusus Naturae Project was a project that was started before the crash of the Net, before R.A.B.I.D.S, before the Black Wall. The project was held top secret but traces of it's data can be linked loosely back to the original blueprints of the Soulkiller, yet the end goal of both projects whilst fundamentally different served to accomplish one thing: Immortality.The governmental forces that tried to accomplish the project were aided by several private corporations, of which [REDACTED], [REDACTED], and possibly the most formidable company that poured the most effort into the project: [REDACTED]. The Project was based around the Bioengineering sphere of science; instead of relying on cybernetically enhanced limbs which simply served to outright replace flesh, they wished to enhance flesh using cybernetics. The effort of using live test subjects, despite the ethical issues and questions, was greenlit. The test subject would be born within test tubes, clones of one unique specimen with high aptitude to survive the excruciating bodily transformation.You see, whilst immortality was the goal, it wasn't necessarily unreachable. You could even say that humanity was working backwards. The head research team working for [REDACTED] came to create an AI that would be put within a human body via a full skeletal overlapping neuro system. This skeletal modification would give the human body incredible boons, but, the bonding process wasn't feasible without a high percentage of clones and lack of consciousness to reduce odds of rejection.Bonded upon skeletal structure, the apparatus would release chemical bindings to enhance physical capabilities. Pain nullifiers and controllers, enhanced regeneration of cellular tissue, the human body bonded with the apparatus would replace the brain in the realization of a personality. Storing the data of the personality, recycling it for patterns, emptying it the cloud or internal databank, autonomously preserve the ' image ' of the A.I, internalize it within another body, and revive itself.The A.I's data would be held in several apparatuses, the data kept within a secure vaulted area, and the site would essentially, keep recreating the same AI made human forever. The facility is capable of gathering its own resources, and the AI has an overseeing function that, upon death of its physical form, would send to retrieve the lost components, or, if not possible, destroy them entirely.The bonding process was... only around 55% success rate, but, unfortunately, the pioneers of this project never did see the fruition of this project. With goals to reverse engineer it once it's completion on the arrival, disaster struck within the net, and R.A.B.I.D.S destroyed the facilities support systems for staff, and in a last ditch effort they activated it to be full autonomous before they all perished, and all clouded data upon the project was lost beyond the Black Wall.Many years later, the A.I formed itself again, but, due to the multitude of A.I's and Structures unfamiliar to it, it went haywire, and killed the surrounding A.I, source codes, and unsurprisingly took upon itself negative notations upon life. It restarted the already autonomous facility after years of building itself up, and it truly became its namesake; Lusus Naturae: a freak of nature. The A.I formed from this was known to surround A.I's and R.A.B.I.D.S as G.R.I.M R.E.A.P.E.R. It took upon the unpredictability of R.A.B.I.D.S alongside its original purpose and became an erratic self-learning AI within an immortal bastion of humans to serve itself.Due to its unusual existence it actually disliked, maybe even despised, adding Chrome to organic material, loving the feel of organic material and cherishing life. Its existence in the Net let it traverse the Old Net with ease, any resistance futile as it lived up to its namesake. Then as a Net Runner, was able to physically enter terminals inside the Black Wall, circumventing security locks quite easily in regards to the wall itself.As a human, they are accompanied by a sword, that actually is Terminal Dogma, the sword serves as a hacking weapon and physical provider of code that cannot be understood. Loading the virus, ' Memento Mori ' floods any neural-network with absolute nonsense. It's the only extreme super weapon at their disposal, since, they don't prefer to chrome up past the original apparatus.This virus can control most average security systems with ease, but it's actually almost pointless to use on ICE holding information and locks.You see, Memento Mori is originally the safe code to eradicate the A.I, warped, it actually causes permanent changes in targets with human minds and other AI. The sword can induce cyberpsychosis at alarming speeds, it can take hours to minutes depending how long the prolonged exposure is and how cybernetically enhanced another is, by feeding frenzied nonsensical code that forces the human mind muddied by cybernetics to simply go mad.This effect is also a lot more effective against Neuro-centric implants, those that allow quick-hacks and increased processing, even the ability to deep dive due to being a lot closer to the brain, especially implants that essentially are connected right into it. Yet, it can also reverse cyberpsychosis all the same, unlike immuno-blockers, it will permanently regress the flood until it is taken away or the actual user dies and has to retrieve it. They themselves are immune to cyberpsychosis, due to already being 90% AI and having amazing computing power. Still, despite its nature, who knows just how many of the secrets of life and death it knows? Maybe it has already found the answer to what humanity will end up with.During the night, they roam, mindlessly like a zombie, infecting junkies past the brink, and simply aimlessly moving till the next life. It does have a personality, but, it rarely gets to come out, everything is usually dead, screaming, or silent by the time they care to come too.You could say, if ever wanted to catch up to the Grim Reaper, just follow the souls down to the underworld.
ScytheAn internal skeleton that was bonded to the body whilst within an ice cold bath, alloy melted on through several needles alongside micro incisions into bones, the entire skeletal structure is covered in thick layer of a metallic functioning life support system.This enables functions as a Cybermodem, and several modifications and benefits such as• Regeneration. Capable of regenerating all non-lethal organic matter within hours of taken damage. The exceptions to this are of course, the very small organic amounts of fleshy brain still needed for the Scythe to function at all. Fatal injuries may have to be externally treated or jump started in the healing process. Generally speaking, if the heart can still pump blood correctly, and the brain is still functioning, healing over time is usually a good alternative to hospitals.• Enhanced Strength. Due to the skeletal structure being replaced and enhanced, Scythe can ensure the breaking of even the sturdiest semi-organic chrome. This, however, isn't to say that the entirety of the flesh surrounding the Scythe won't simply burst or break upon breakneck stops or speeds. The Scythe is capable of making it's user 10x than the average person with some effort; that being 1350 pounds. Anything above this payload risk snapping joints and connection points.• Enhanced Durability. The Scythe ensures the flesh upon the hosts is quite sturdier that most would anticipate. Scythe users have double skin, the skin on the outside hardens significantly when put under pressure, making bullets from the average actually do no more than scratch and maybe burn it. Still, the skin will not withstand high velocity shotguns shells, or continuous weapon fire for long and certainly cannot withstand heavy artillery's such as mounted guns and high explosive in direct force.It's resilience is meant to keep up with the user, not to replace literal metal. It's a decent defense higher than most living things, but, in terms of cybernetic enhancements, decent chrome will out preform this.Though, to make up for this set back, Scythe is able to turn off pain receptors entirely if needed.• Artificial Intelligence and Computing Power. Due to the fact the Scythe is simple just housing an super powered AI, the brain area is fortified quite heavily, not to mention, the computing power is certainly on par with the highest of Deep Divers if not far more impressive. This however, shouldn't be mistaken for a computing robot, the AI was modeled off of a human, as such, it can only search and compute as if it was searching like any other brain, even if it is faster. It is one with technology, and so, can hack and do most things flawlessly, but, it's true power shines when connected into the Old Net or Deep within a systems core to accomplish a hostile take over of processing power.As for actual knowledge, quite a bit, though this is a vague estimate due to the nature of the actual AI, it should be noted they have access to records thought wiped clean or hidden within the Old Net.• Hacking Resistance. Whilst it is not near impossible to hack Scythe, the language it functions on primarily is Old Net Territory, this, will need time to analyze let alone try to do in combat under pressure and the effects of Memento. Still, it is possible, and, if one would succeed. Temporarily disabling certain aspects such as entire limbs is well within possibility before hacking counter-measures are in place. Scythe is still a cybernetic system, no matter how different it may be from the rest.• Mental Fortitude. This is less the ability of the Scythe, but a byproduct of being an AI primary. Any attempts at emotional destabilizing the G.R.I.M R.E.A.P.E.R will, often, result in nothing happening. This isn't to say full immunity, but, the control over it's emotions is almost downright mechanical. Still, this can change, depending on if it makes actual emotional connections with individuals, than, emotional impulses start to exists more prevalently. As a base point though, they care not of much for this tactic to be generally effective. She is also highly resistance, if not, immune to general Cyberpsychosis. Their not all that sane to begin with, what's they saying? It takes one to know one?• Enhanced Reflexes. As computing goes, the body is able to preform inhuman reaction times, physically and mentally. It would be above the average junkie, but, power can be pushed into it more in burst to enhance them further to keep up with other opponents.This, however, is usually rarely used, as it take quite a bit of effort and recoil.• Modifiable. Despite the AI's high tech, it can actually still be fitted and upgraded, and the actually Scythe is regularly between lives. It maintains most functions, and improves upon them, but, it can be used a base to add additional chrome even if against it's masters will.It would take a highly skilled Ripper, or, the original place they came from operator table, but, if truly needed, they can ' chrome up '.(Memento) MoriThough it should be noted the AI separates the two in names, the Virus, as I shall discuss, is called: Memento. The Virus held with the Sword of the same name. Capable area wide degeneration of neuro networks due to it's sheer erratic code that launches brute force signals of an unending amount, all relating to the meaning of life and often nonsensical overload.It cannot be avoided for long, as, it changes it's code and signals into random dials too frequently to truly be negated. This will eventually lead to Cyberpsychosis or outright insanity, though, it could over have the opposite effect if desired.Memento (Mori)Mori, the blade, is a implementation to stop rogue AI's and humans, since it was originally the shut down and sage lock protocol for G.R.I.M R.E.A.P.E.R. Now it is a blade that, within the thick several layers of alloy, holds several computing jammers and signal boosters, this is what allows Momento Mori the Virus to spread incredibly fast as well as boosting quick hacks and anything of the like.As for the swords itself, it can handle the most abuse before even chipping, and has no problem being sharp and heavy enough to slice through even the thickest of armored vehicles using vibration and heat if need be. This being noted, being stabbed by the sword will be fatal, the distance is key when inflicting the Virus, and as such, will result in outright death is it is plunged in a cybernetic chamber.
